Written Summary:
Let me
say that this is definitely the best tape in the Bernie Lau Aiki Jujitsu series.
There is very little fluff in this first class production ( but all of the tapes
in this series are very well produced ) as Mr Lau and his Uke walk outside onto the
grass and begin to demonstrate one technique after another. The video is segmented
so that we see all the the techniques required for 5th Kyu right up through the techniques
required for Shodan rank. Needless to say, that is a lot of techniques in one video.
This
tape is a technique lover's dream. The camera shots are good, the angles are good,
there is some narration but very little. Many of the techniques are repeated as Mr
Lau moves from one rank level requirements to the next but they are all well photographed
and relatively easy to understand given the limitations of the video medium. Not
too much fluff exists on this tape as we are given three or so looks at each technique
and then we move on to the next one. This is a no nonsense tape. It gets right to
the point of teaching aiki jujitsu techniques quickly, clearly, and effectively.
This tape is a buy for anyone interested in aiki jujitsu. It will take some work
to make these techniques 100% street effective but after watching this video, I am
sure it can be done.
