Written Summary:

This tape is an excellent overview of low line kicking and covers a great deal of material in 46 minutes. Mr. Lala is not only a talented martial artist but is a very good video instructor as well. This tape uses voiceovers for most of the tape, which makes for clear explanations of the techniques being demonstrated.

The video begins with various conditioning drills for bare foot kicking and moves into a brief demonstration of various endurance drills and partner drills using a heavy bag. From there, Mr. Lala moves into shield training and arm guard training using a partner to help the student get a feel for striking a living, moving target. Mr. Lala has impeccable form when he demonstrates these kicks and is entertaining, as well as informative, to watch.

Some of the material that Mr. Lala covers on the kicking portion of this video are target areas of low kicks, countering an attack with low line kicks, gap closing moves using low kicks, attacks from the rear using low kicks, combination kicking with takedowns, kicking an opponent on the ground, using low kicks to counter an attack and using low kicks to escape various grabs. Also, there is an excellent training section of how to maximize your training using free style sparring. This video is loaded with good advice and training tips on using low line kicks. While all martial artists know something about kicking, this video fills in the blanks nicely for many who have not done a lot of low line kicking.

This video is highly recommended for anyone wanting to learn about or learn how to improve their low line kicking. This tape is one of the better tapes I have seen on this subject.
