Written Summary:
This tape is the first
in ESPY Video's six tape series on Vee Arnis Jitsu, one of the very best street self
defense systems I have ever had the pleasure to watch on video. I have reviewed other
tapes on Vee Arnis Jitsu and this one, like others, is a top quality production on
the subject of realistic street self defense. Professor Visitacion's unique system
combined with the excellent teaching of the highly skilled David James make this
video a " must have "for any martial artist who is serious about learning
about street self defense.
Shihan James has a unique ability to communicate
with the viewers as he introduces the viewer to one fighting concept after another,
the Vee Arnis Jitsu way. There are many techniques scattered throughout this video
but this tape is really more about concepts than it is about technique.
One
very special treat on this tape is that we actually get to see Professor Visitacion
himself, doing techniques and explaining his system of self defense. Although Professor
Vee is elderly, he shows what a great martial artist he is as he walks the viewer
through one technique after another.
As far as the content of this tape, there
are a great many techniques shown including a few that are very unique. Some basic
concepts of Vee Arnis Jitsu are introduced which include " touch and go striking",
" V stepping ", " triangle stepping ", " dead hands ",
" trading places " and " above and beyond ". All of these concepts
make a great deal of sense from a personal protection perspective. This video comes
with our highest recommendation for anyone interested in learning about practical
reality based street self defense.
