Written Summary:

This is the second time I’m reviewing DVDs by Shenshido founder, Rich Dimitri. I have to say that I must have a soft spot for Mr. Dimitri, as I will forgive him for the occasional bad film editing. At one point during his live seminar series, his camera person for some unexplained reason starts shooting the floor and peoples’ feet for over a minute. The bottom line is that Mr. Dimitri’s passion for what he teaches and his methods allow me to forgive the less then perfect production values. I really like what he does. How many times have you seen an instructor put on a strobe light and blast music to simulate a club and then work realistic scenarios? I would guess never and if you can tell me where I would love to know. He even sprays pepper spray above his students’ heads to get them used to the real possibility of what the effects are if they encounter it. This actually happened in Chicago when a bouncer sprayed pepper spray and the patrons in the club panicked heading for the exit. I believe at least 21 people died. Would you know what to do?I really liked his example on what a traditional martial arts lapel grab looks like and the traditional martial arts response. He then demonstrates what a real lapel grab looks like done with crazed emotion. Mr. Dimitri is trying to teach you how to survive and save your life, and his unique training methods will do just that. The bottom line, I highly recommend this series, and Mr. Dimitri when I take my next vacation I’m coming to Montreal.
