Written Summary:

This is the first tape in a four tape series by Gata Importers that deals with Brazilian Jiu Jitsu. This is a decently produced, no nonsense production that gets right to the techniques and does not waste tape space with endless repetitions of the same technique. We get an explanation by Mr. Franca at normal speed, a slow motion shot of the technique and then it's on to the next technique. The techniques presented in this video are presumed to be tournament techniques since that is how this video series is marketed. Some, but certainly not all, of these techniques look like they would be street effective.

Gata gives the viewer a quality production for their money. Although this video is relatively short, there are a lot of techniques considering how inexpensive this video is.

The material on this video is comprised of some basic gi chokes, leg chokes, and armbars executed from the guard position. The camera angles are good and my only criticism is that I had a problem at times understanding Mr. Franca because of his accent. About halfway through the tape, I was able to adjust to his accent and I had no problem after that.

If you are interested in tournament Brazilian Jiu Jitsu (and NHB competition in general), then this video would be a nice purchase. Not recommended for those with advanced grappling skills.
