Written Summary:
The more I watch of
Mr. Saladino, the more I begin to appreciate his extensive repetoire of martial arts
techniques. In this video "Joe" shines, and one gets a glimpse at how much
of a well rounded martial artist he really is. Mr. Saladino incorporates the use
of quick hand strikes, kicks, jujitsu techniques, and sometimes even the use of a
stick (which he's very good with). Joe shows the viewer how they can use a multitude
of these techniques, to defend oneself in the following 11 self defense scenarios:
1.
Counter Attack to a Straight Punch
2. Double Arm Lock Escape
3. Double Wrist
Hold Escape
4. Double Choke or Collar Escape
5. Counter Attack to a Rear Grab
6.
Disarming and Attacker with a Club (Joe's VERY GOOD with a club/stick)
7. Sharp
Object Counter to a Attack
8. Stick Defense Against Knife Attack
9. Choke Prevention
and Counter Attack
10. Counter Attack Against a Boxer (In this one, we get a surprise
glimpse at Joes' versatility as he throws an unbelievably fast and powerful turning
side kick)
11. Counter Attack Against a Wrestler
The thing I like most
about Joe's techniques are they're fundamentally sound, highly effective, yet they're
not "style" specific, and most won't take years to master.
There
are many teachers who show how to just use karate (block/punch/kick) in various self
defense scenarios, and others who show how to just use judo or jujitsu, however rarely
seen is the effective combining of these, which can create something very special,
and Joe does just that.
