Written Summary:
This is
the third tape in a three tape series on Training Drills for Martial Artists by Matt
Furey. Matt has some excellent credentials as a Martial Artist. He is a gold medal
winner at the World Shuai-chiao Kung Fu Championship’s in Beijing, China as well
as a former national collegiate wrestling champion. Personally I really enjoy learning
new drills and this tape delivers the goods. This third tape deals with partner drills
and can certainly make someone a better Martial Artist.
Some of the drills
included are spin drills, joint locking drills, pummelling (I really liked this section),
strength drills, throwing drills, entering drills, combined striking and grappling
drills, balance drills and hand strength drills. For most of these there are numerous
variations that can be added to make more new drills. This tape would be of benefit
to both Martial Artists and Wrestlers. Matt uses his experience in both disciplines
so the viewer gets a excellent variation of drills. Although this tape is only 27
minutes long there is no wasted time. Matt only has an Introduction on the 1st tape,
tapes 2 and 3 get right into the drills. There is no playback or slow motion just
drill after drill.
If your looking for drills to add to your personal training
or if your an Instructor and want to add some new material to your class this would
be an excellent start.
