Written Summary:

This is the fourth tape that I have reviewed that featured Peyton Quinn and the more I see of Peyton Quinn, the more I like what he has to teach. Some people would consider this video as very basic. BUT Peyton Quinn takes some basic stuff and breaks it down in more detail than I have ever seen before in a video. The majority of the tape is devoted to learning how to defend yourself against the two most common hand attacks, the right hook and the overhand straight right. One of the many fundamental points made by Mr. Quinn is that you don't need five thousand techniques against every attack. In fact, Mr. Quinn believes that too many techniques can work against most martial artists. He takes two similar techniques against the right hook and overhand straight right and shows how to make them work for you. Mr. Quinn proceeds to different applications of the same techniques such as when you are in a sitting position when attacked.

This is one of those videos that if I had only 2 hours to teach somebody how to defend themselves in a barroom situation, then this is the kind of lesson I would give to them. This material would make a great " introductory " lesson to anyone interested in learning " street " self defense. This tape is nearly 2 hours long which makes it the best " bang for the buck " that I have seen to date. While I have not seen all of Peyton Quinn's videos, this is definitely the best of the ones I have previously reviewed (Blitzkrieg Attacks, Black Medicine, Barroom Brawling). You definitely get your money's worth and then some on this video.
