Written Summary:
These are the last
2 tapes in Mario Sperry’s 2nd series on Vale Tudo fighting. If your looking for
leg locks that can be applied from a Vale Tudo perspective these two video’s contain
some of the best footage I have seen on this subject. As usual Sperry breaks down
everything in fine detail showing what really works AND how to properly get into
the locks. Mario shows various leg locks and knee bars from many different positions.
Some of these include when your opponent has turtled or when you are on the ground
and the person is standing above you. Some of this material I have seen before but
as usual Mario adds a few other details that make it worthwhile. Also covered is
when you are mounted and reverse your opponent into a ankle lock. Mario carries
on from the first tape series where he demonstrated how to properly pass the person’s
guard and when your opponent catches the back of your ankles and knocks you backwards
giving you an excellent opportunity to apply a heel hook. Mario also covers the
Victor roll. At the end of the video there is some fight footage between Luta Livre
fighter Marcelo Medes and Murilo. I don’t think I need to tell you who won this
one.
The information on these tapes will stand for a long time to come and
is certainly an example for other tape companies to follow.
